Taralee Orchards is a scenic 115 acre undulating property situated adjacent to the Wirrabara State Forest in the Southern Flinders Ranges. The main commercial activity is producing certified biodynamically grown stonefruit, with value added products such as dried fruit, fruit leathers, jams, chutneys and honey.

We also have free range poultry, geese, sheep, cattle and a large vege garden. Also two friendly farm dogs.

We have two self contained cottages,Apricot Cottage and Ruby Cottage. Both have spacious verandahs overlooking the orchard and nearby Forest, and cosy slow combustion wood fires in the lounge for the cooler months.

The Heysen Trail goes past our property, and the Mawson Trail is nearby

Drive up the driveway to our house, and we will direct you from there.

Children are welcome. We are happy for them to take part in tending to and feeding the farm animals with us. We have a range of poultry, guinea pigs, pet sheep and quiet cattle.
We can supply a high chair and porta-cot, and we have a selection of toys and childrens videos in the cottages.

Apricot Cottage has a carport.
Ruby Cottage has a gravelled parking area adjacent to the cottage. Car can be partly covered by western veranda.

Travel DirectionsTravel Directions

Get to Wirrabara, which is 240 kms north of Adelaide.
In Wirrabara, travel west on the Forest Road, which is sign posted in the main street.
Travel west for 11 kms on Forest Road. We are situated 2 kms past the Forest HQ, on the left side. Large red gum tree by our entrance, and our property name is on the gate.

Relax on the veranda and enjoy the quietness and scenic surrounds.
Walks in the Wirrabara Forest, including the historic Old Nursery, which is across the road. The Heysen Trail goes past our property.
Cycling on the Cycling Trails in the Wirrabara Forest. The Mawson Trail is nearby.
Visit the surrounding area, such as Melrose, Mt Remarkable National Park and Alligator Gorge
Visit the local Cellar Doors to sample the local wines
Visit the nearby towns, which have local craft and produce shops, antique shops and cafes
Wirrabara Producers Market 3rd Sunday of every month from 8.30am to 12noon
