Stirling
Adelaide Hills

Individual and uniquely private accommodation catering for individual selection, with private dedicated entries. Inspired timeless design with a sense of wonder; complementary appointments with both antique and the finest bespoke furnishing. A dynamic property where creative surroundings provide unique engaging experiences for the soul. Unique and commanding outlooks across sweeping vistas, with a special sense of time and place.

Thorngrove Manor Hotel has been a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World since 1995, ensuring a commitment to excellence. In 1984 the Thorngrove journey began; to create a unique signature boutique hotel providing inspired and meaningful experiences for guests. Eschewing the corporate culture pre-occupied with budget results, glittery excess or formulated success, it was to be an enduring and evolving hotel, profoundly representational of its unique regional landscape, history, amenity, climate and community. The contemporary becomes outmoded and the historic replicated. Traditionally boutique/lodge hotels have predictable cultural lines of service and a commonality of experience, impersonal and institutional corridors, tedious check-in, noise from adjoining rooms, and customary herding to pre dinner drinks and strict dinner regimes. With an inherent consciousness to differentiate, Thorngrove provides a dynamic and exquisitely crafted environment in which guests respond, providing a journey beyond the destination. Just as people choose individual clothes, rooms are creative, flexible, evolving and individual, inspired by the architectural tradition of the region. It is a unique multi-towered, hotel with an abundance of gables, spires and detailing, creating a mood of escapist fantasy and a timeless sense of history. The pointed arches and turrets, decorative plasterwork and elaborate portico entrances of the architecture, provide romantic and whimsical appeal designed to stimulate the senses. This distinctive and innovative landmark property has received accolades for its unique style and professionalism, including an Australian Tourism Award, and entry into the South Australian Tourism Hall of Fame.

The artistic interior reflects rare craftsmanship, featuring select antique pieces, complemented by bespoke artisan-crafted furniture and modern amenities. All guest areas are highly individual with an atmosphere of relaxed informality. Suites are distinguished by their individual character, inspired by tradition, rusticity and elegant timelessness, to rooms of theatrical inspired artistry; all decorated with the utmost attention to detail and with a uniquely Australian contemporary twist. Each suite has been decorated individually to complement the architectural diversity.

Iconic architectural personality and visual integrity have continued to attract guests. Privacy is absolute; you may never see the other guests. Safety and security is paramount with gates open only for arrival and departure of guests. A surrounding hedge delineates Thorngrove from the outside world, allowing guests to explore and discover and return home.

Dining is private, individual and relaxing, with the unique accompaniment of antique sterling silver pieces predating the Australian settlement. The Adelaide Hills region is renowned for its gastronomic diversity, and local organic and bio-dynamic produce is used extensively.

Run under the personal supervision of 'innkeepers', the aim is to ensure each individual guest feels valued. Passion, heart and soul and generosity of spirit ensure the highest degree of attention to detail is assured, with discreet, responsive personalised service. Guests enjoy a truly unique accommodation experience in an exclusive 'country living zone', with peerless views across the valley to the horizon. The ridge top location is exceptional. The location within an historic village community provides a sense of place and belonging.
